DHS is the new structure of the former Georgia Department of Human Resources. Our mission is to provide Georgia with customer-focused human services that promote child and adult protection, child welfare, stronger families and self-sufficiency. DHS includes the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) the Division of Aging Services (DAS), the Office of Child Support Services (OCSS), the Office of Residential Child Care (RCC) and support offices.

Helping Those Who Want to Help Themselves
As the number of non-custodial parents receiving unemployment benefits has quadrupled, so has the need for services only the Office of Child Support Services’ (OCSS) Fatherhood Program can deliver. To meet that demand head on, the Office has added 21 new Fatherhood Program agents who will help thousands of out-of-work parents find jobs so they can pay child support. This is the first time OCSS has had to expand its services this much since its inception. More »

November 19, 2009 - ATLANTA (GA) – Recording artist Ne-Yo is scheduled to help the Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) raise awareness about the importance of adopting during the 14th Annual “Celebrating Adoption” event. The event will take place on Saturday, November 21 from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Helene Mills Center at 515 John Wesley Avenue in Atlanta. Ne-Yo is a well-known Atlanta resident who is the founder of the Compound Foundation, Inc., one of the event co-sponsors.
